Seek to build bridges of understanding between cultures and between the employers, employees and community members who represent those cultures.   Puentes/Bridges, Inc. was begun in 1999, growing out of a request to teach Spanish to dairy producers in Buffalo County, WI. The program has helped more than 30 dairy producers from all over Wisconsin and Minnesota understand and work better with over 120 Mexican employees. Puentes/Bridges has made three trips to Mexico, taking producers from these states, and has organized two trips for small Mexican dairy producers and Ag. Official to come to Wisconsin. The Puentes/Bridges program takes people in the dairy industry for a ten-day immersion experience. This culminates in a meeting with families of Mexican working in the United States, which establishes a unique, human and very personal connection with Mexico. Culminating the experience by traveling to the villages of and arranging a meeting with families of those Mexican people living and working in our dairies and/or communities.   TRIPS! Puentes/Bridges has similar trips for college students, offered in cooperation with the universities of Minnesota and Wisconsin-River Falls. Offering home stays, an intensive Spanish class (20 hours) at Cemanahuac Educational Community, lectures, tours of archeological and agricultural sites. Puentes/Bridges invites church and community groups interested in learning first hand to participate in order to establish a similar connection.     Puentes/Bridges, Inc. trips can and does change lives. It offere's much more than just travel to see a different country. Because of a shared interest, be it the dairy industry, church, or community groups. We connect participants with the families who have members working and living in the United States.  The cost of the trip is very low. It was designed to be affordable to all who have interest.
